History of Coffee Makers by Braun

Braun introduced its first coffee maker in 1963, with technology much different than anything being offered at the time.

Percolators were the common method of brewing coffee during this time, both stove top and electric models were common in restaurants and to less degree American homes.

The introduction of Braun's dripolator technology used a separate reservoir for the water and a separate place for the ground coffee and filter. The heated water would drip on the coffee, imparting the coffee taste and smell, and then drip into a container below. The Braun method resulted in an excellent cup of coffee, rich in flavor and quick to make.
