Choosing the best drip coffee maker

best automatic coffee maker

Ask for the best drip coffee maker and people will name drip coffee maker models from brands like Black & Decker, Braun, Cuisinart, Delonghi, Hamilton Beach, Toastmaster and other leading manufacturers.

Personally I too am not averse to the idea of buying branded products (or rather top-brand drip coffee makers) and so you will find many names from the top-brands in my favorites’ list – Black & Decker Brew'n Go, Braun AromaDeluxe, Capresso MT500, Delonghi retro style DCR902T, Hamilton Beach Aroma Express, Windmere WCM10 and other top brand models.

All this is agreed but there is one point I would like to make here – the make or brand can never be the only consideration when choosing the best drip coffee maker models. Other considerations, like the capacity of the coffee maker models, their features and even the use the coffee maker will be put to, too need to be assessed.

Coffee Maker Size

Drip coffee makers are available in different sizes; you have the single cup, 2 cup, 4 cup, 6 cup, 8 cup, 10 cup, 12 cup models side-by-side other high-capacity models for commercial use. Medium sized drip coffee makers with thermal pots are the best drip coffee maker models for household uses as the coffee remains warm for a considerably long period of time.

It has been seen that the drip coffee makers are not good for making 1-2 cups of coffee. The problem is that the brewing process begins before the water reaches the accurate temperature and so the coffee looks watery and tastes bland.

Other Considerations

Speaking of other considerations, the first thing that comes to my mind is the presence of advanced features like water-filters. Filters can help eliminate chemicals like chlorine and bacteria from water so that you can have some great tasting, healthy coffee.

Again, features like the auto-shut-off, programmable timer, pause-and-serve function are what people look for in automatic drip coffee makers. These features have nothing to do with the quality of the coffee makers and make no contributions for these machines to be grouped among the best drip coffee makers; but they certainly add to the convenience of the user.

Finally, it is to be seen that ones own preference matters a lot. If you prefer to exercise a greater control over the way the coffee comes out, you can always opt for a manually operated drip coffee maker. If you too belong to the same league, you can pick up one from among the Chemex Classic Series, Hario, Melitta, SwissGold KF600 or the Toddy coffee maker. As far as the automatic drip coffee makers are concerned, I have already named some of the very best drip coffee maker models like the Braun AromaDeluxe, Braun Aromaster and the Capresso MT500 available in the market …
